A warm welcome to our new Director of Music Rosemary OliverBA (Hons) who graduated from Durham University and went into the world of education. Following her post as Director of Music at Newcastle East Academy Trust, she is excited to be taking a new direction as MD with Pride & Joy. Her enthusiasm for singing began at a very young age. Rosemary was a member of Cheshire Youth Choir under the tutelage of Dr Shirley Court. She went on to join the award-winning Chanterelles ladies choir, based in Leicester. Her music has taken her around the world, including as a vocal coach and piano tutor at Amadeus Academy in Cuenca, Ecuador. Rosemary undertook her choral conducting training with Sing for Pleasure and has since enjoyed running several choirs, including a variety of children’s choirs and St Aidan’s Choir at Durham University.
If you enjoy music and singing with others then please get in touch. Don't be afraid to come along and give it a try. There are no scary auditions and we're a friendly bunch who welcome newcomers of all abilities.
